We’re delighted to announce that Southsea Badminton Club has been recognised as a Clubmark accredited sports club.

In the words of Badminton England:

Clubmark is the universally acknowledged cross sport accreditation scheme for community sports Clubs. It shows that a club provides the right environment which ensures the welfare of members and encourages everyone to enjoy sport and stay involved throughout their lives.

For badminton clubs like us , we also become a Badminton England ‘Premier Club’.

What is a Premier Club?

The committee has been working hard to get the right policies in place to run our community club well. This includes adopting safety and equality policies, and a transparent structure, including a committee and a proper constitution.

Most of this work has been behind the scenes, but we believe is essential to creating a positive, supportive and safe club that players can choose with confidence.

Becoming a Premier Club is a fantastic acknowledgement of the hard work of the committee since September. We’re now of one of only two Premier Clubs in the city.

We hope to continue to develop the club over the coming months, for members and players alike.
