Booking our club nights
If you’re planning to join us for the first time, you must first read information on how our main club nights and improvers’ sessions are run, including the minimum ability levels we require. You must also complete the registration form sent to you in your email confirmation.
Your first session will be a trial to see if we are a good fit. Our organisers will speak with you at the end of the session to suggest alternatives if relevant.

How booking works
Refunds, cancellations and transfers
Refunds are available for club night bookings up until 24 hours before the club session, minus Eventbrite’s booking fees. We can’t issue refunds after this point as your place is often unable to be filled at such short notice.
To request an automatic refund on your order, please open your booking confirmation email. Under ‘Order Summary’, select ‘View and manage your order online’. From there you’ll be able to request a refund on your ticket.
SBC Members only – transferring tickets
Southsea Badminton Club Members may request a transfer to an equivalent club night instead of a refund, with 24 hours notice.
This member perk is subject to a fair use policy – we will only transfer tickets up to twice per calendar month, to keep club night places accessible to all, and club nights financially sustainable.
Waitlist for sold-out club nights
If club night is fully booked, you can be added to a waitlist which will automatically release places if others cancel and they become available.
Click to book tickets as usual, and if no more are available, you’ll have the option of joining the waitlist.
You’ll receive an email if a place becomes available for the club night you requested, and you’re next in the queue. You’ll have 6 hours to claim it before it passes to the next person in the list.
We strongly recommend that you keep a close eye on your email inbox – for example by setting up notifications on your phone – to avoid disappointment.
Registration for new players
If you’ve never played with us before you’ll need to fill out an online registration form to provide us your current details. The link to register will be sent to you after booking – please check your confirmation email carefully.

Finding Portsmouth High School’s sports hall
From the car park, face the main reception building and follow the red brick path and black railing round to the right of the building.
Go through the gateway in the wall on your right hand side, following the sign for the sports hall.
The Bannell Centre sports hall is on the opposite side of the playground, and you should be able to see the entrance on the left. Changing rooms and toilets are upstairs, should you need them.
Parking is free inside the school car park an on surrounding roads, but can be busy so we recommend walking where possible.

Finding the hall at Ravelin Sports Centre
Enter Ravelin Sports Centre through the revolving door and walk ahead past the Starbucks coffee shop.
Go up the staircase next to the climbing wall, and turn right. Head into the left door and walk along the sports hall to courts 1-4.
Our events may be running alongside other SBC events (such as club nights, coaching and matches) or other public bookings, so please check your booking information to ensure that you are on the correct courts.
There’s plenty of bike parking outside, and parking is free on surrounding streets after 6pm.
